How to Assign IP Address Manually in Solaris 10

 1. Check IP Address

#ifconfig –a

2. Assigning  IP Address

#ifconfig e1000g0   10.251.1.250   netmask  255.255.0.0

 

3. UP and Down IP Address

 

#ifconfig e1000g0 unplumb —-> down

#ifconfig e1000g0 plumb —-> up

 

4. Assign & Check Route IP

 

#route add default 10.215.0.1

#netstat –nr

 

5. Network Configuration Files

 

#vi /etc/hostname.e1000g0 – IP Address configuration file

 

#vi /etc/netmasks – Netmask configuration file

 

#vi /etc/defaultrouter – Router IP configuration file

 

#vi /etc/nodename – Hostname configuration
