1. Check and Edit Net Backup client Configuration file

#vi /usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf

SERVER=IND-BLR-MS02.wipro.com

2. Add the NetBackup Server IP and Hostname in Hosts file.

#vi /etc/hosts/

10. X.X.X                   IND_BLR_MS02.wipro.com

3. Start and Stop the NetBackup client

#cd   /usr/openv/netbackup/bin

#./bp.kill_all

#./bp.start_all

How to Assign IP Address Manually in Solaris 10

 1. Check IP Address

#ifconfig –a

2. Assigning  IP Address

#ifconfig e1000g0   10.251.1.250   netmask  255.255.0.0

 

3. UP and Down IP Address

 

#ifconfig e1000g0 unplumb —-> down

#ifconfig e1000g0 plumb —-> up

 

4. Assign & Check Route IP

 

#route add default 10.215.0.1

#netstat –nr

 

5. Network Configuration Files

 

#vi /etc/hostname.e1000g0 – IP Address configuration file

 

#vi /etc/netmasks – Netmask configuration file

 

#vi /etc/defaultrouter – Router IP configuration file

 

#vi /etc/nodename – Hostname configuration

 


        Patches installation means latest Packages or software updating in Solaris 10 OS.

 

            Note: Important thing before installing patches request customer to down the applications and databases…. Need to ask 4 to 6 Hours downtime for patches installation…

 

1. Download Latest patches for Solaris 10 from Oracle portal

 

2. Access Patched from samba share. xx.xx.xx.xx

Username: root

Password: #######

 

    \\xx.xx.xx.xx\ISO_images\solaris\solaris10\solaris patch   2013\X86 recommended.zip

 

 

3. Copy this patches file into our local Machine. Using scp command

 

    #SCP 10_X86_Recommended.zip test@Ipaddress:/tmp

 

 

4. After Copy the File .Unzip the patches

 

    #unzip  10_X86_Recommended.zip

 

 

5. Before installing Patches enter into single user mode.

 

     #init s       

 

6. Command to install Patches

 

     #. /installpatchset –s10patchset

 

7. After installing Patches reboot the machine

 

#init 6
